For some, the words “dental appointment” can strike fear in the bravest of hearts. Most of us have had at least one less-than-stellar experience in a dentist’s office, but the doctors and staff at Complete Dental are out to eradicate those experiences. In their own words, the doctors are out to provide all of their patients with red carpet treatments, and make the name “Complete Dental” synonymous with “trust.”
Dr. Jason Selman began his practice in 1999 in Decatur. As their presence grew, they found the need to expand. They opened a new practice, Complete Dental, in 2007 in Madison. Founded by Dr. Selman, Complete Dental has continued to grow, adding two more locations over the years – one in Huntsville, and one in Athens. Today, there are five other dental professionals who have joined the practice, and a brand new location open in Decatur.
“Having five other doctors here to bounce ideas off of is great,” said Dr. Rob Sotoudehnia, who works at the Huntsville location. “If I come across something different or new, I can ask their opinions and we can collaborate on how to provide our patients with the best care possible.”
Having six dental professionals across the four locations also means that Complete Dental is able to offer flexible hours of operation. Unlike most dental offices, they are open six days a week (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays), which makes scheduling appointments around work hours a breeze.
While teeth whitening is still their most requested cosmetic procedure, Complete Dental also offers the latest in cutting edge technologies, such as Invisalign braces, sleep apnea treatments, IV-sedation for wisdom teeth removal, and even Botox. “In addition to treating fine lines and wrinkles, Botox has also been successful in relieving the symptoms of TMJ,” Sotoudehnia said. “We’ve had several patients who had been wearing mouth guards with no success, and after we treated them with Botox, they told us it was the most relief they’d had in six or seven years.”
The procedure which most excites the doctors at Complete Dental is what they’ve dubbed “Teeth in a Day.” Dr. Jason Selman said, “‘Teeth in a Day’ is literally what it sounds like. For so many years, patients who had damaged teeth or were missing multiple teeth had to wait for almost a year for their implants to be complete – you had to take a tooth out, let it heal for four months, then place the implant and let that heal for up to six months before they had permanent teeth. Technology is now allowing us to do it all in one visit. We can remove damaged teeth and place the implants immediately, and the patient walks out of our office with fixed teeth. We’re one of the few dental practices in north Alabama to offer that procedure.”
A winning smile adds something to everyone’s confidence level, and the staff at Complete Dental loves seeing happy and satisfied patients. Dr. Sotoudehnia said, “People want everything to be beautiful, and we really are a one-stop shop making that possible.”
